A newly created role in one of our key clients busy bottling sites for a bottling manager to lead the Bottling team ensuring the safe and cost effective packaging of the highest quality products by a team of Team Leaders and Operators and be a driving force in improving standards of performance against key objectives such as SHE, BRC, customer satisfaction and quality and to drive continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, initiating and managing projects to achieve this. 

Key Responsibilities include:

·         Oversee the execution of the production plan so as to achieve the ‘on time and in full’ delivery of all customer orders.

·         Ensure Department efficiency and achievement of performance targets.

·         Ensure the effective control of yields and wastage.

·         Work with all stakeholders on every element of production Cost Management.

·         Oversee the Manpower Planning process and ensure team optimisation and the control of payroll costs.

·         Ensure all site standards are met in all production areas.

·         Lead the continuous review, development and improvement of production processes.

·         Improve Employee Engagement on the site and ensure effective communication in all production areas.

·         On-going coaching and development of the Team Leader team, building a competent and capable operational team with effective training and development plans

·         Provide technical advice and guidance to the operational team and associated functions

·         Resolution of operational issues


To be successful, you should: 

·         Demonstrable track record of leading high-level performance through excellent people management in an operational shift environment.

·         Experience of using trending, root cause analysis and problem-solving tools to continuously-improve performance.

·         Good working knowledge of packaging / engineering processes and “best practice”.

·         Capable of driving change, providing fresh thinking and an alternative perspective

·         Able to take the initiative and push projects forward; solutions-focused

·         Able to challenge the views of others in a constructive, convincing and positive manner.

·         Disciplined approach to organisation, administration and project management

·         Strong commercial and business awareness - able to influence and construct an engaging business case/argument

·         Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

·         Strong communication, coaching and mentoring skills.
