Distillery Process Leader

Nine Twenty are delighted to be supporting our Drinks Manufacturing client in their need for a Distillery Process Leader to join their team permanently. 

The successful candidate will act as a deputy for the Distillery Manager ensuring all essential management and compliance tasks are supported in absence of the Distillery Manager. You will be responsible to ensure the Distillery, its employees and its processes function in line with the production & marketing expectations of the company. Product & quality are of the upmost importance and you will be responsible to ensure all processes including distilling, filling & warehousing are met. 

Responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Supervision of all distillery operations
  • Adherence to strict quality standards & process parameters ensuring safe systems of work are monitored and maintained throughout the site whilst maintaining cleanliness & hygiene 
  • Liaise with internal & external visitors and regulatory bodies 
  • Preparation & issuing of permits to work - write & review health & safety documentation i.e risk assessments, SOP's
  • Maintain site security in line with Excise standards
  • Maintain distillery records & prepare reports including monthly HMRC submissions
  • Managing employee absence & staff cover 
  • Lead on Continuous Improvement and drive this across the teams 
  • Monitor losses, energy & water usage carrying out investigations & reporting 
  • Identify maintenance requirements across the site 

Skills required:

  • Fundamentals of Distilling Qualification preferred 
  • Experienced of working within a Distillery Operations environment 
  • Excel experience is preferred 
  • SAP & DRAMS experience would be beneficial 
  • Experience working with Risk Assessments & Safe Working Practices including H&S Legislation
  • Meet agreed OPEX & CAPEX budgets 
  • Compliance experience including HMRC, HACCP and Internal Auditing 
  • Strong continuous improvement experience 
  • Provide technical advice & technical control of distillery processes
