Nine Twenty Engineering are assisting in the recruitment of an experienced and committed Manufacturing Engineer to join their prestigious Manufacturing Client. This role is expected to be based at their Falkirk manufacturing sites reporting to the Group Manufacturing Engineering Manager. The successful applicant will need to be flexible and willing to travel in the UK and overseas for extended periods to meet the business requirements for new and existing product lines.

The role see you supporting the design of new systems and processes for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones. You will assist with the development of manufacturing processes and with the analysis of new and existing customer requirements in preparation for process allocation. You will have the chance to work with equipment installation projects, tooling and process design; train operators on processes and work instructions and identify and install process measurements to aid continuous improvement.

You will be able to Identify and lead continuous improvement activities on the shop floor, validate electrical design work as “fit for purpose” for manufacturing operations and to generate electrical installation SOP’s.

You will have full autonomy to look at the manufacturing process and de-skill electrical installation work as much as possible for line build operations, ensure 3rd party electrical installations are adequately understood /documented and develop electrical troubleshooting processes / techniques

Another exciting part of this role will be support the control / management of end of line programming equipment and providing build support for major contract start up in the UK and overseas.

The candidate:

If you have an HNC or above in electrical engineering you will have the technical know how to do this role. you should also show that you have a familiarity with electrical control systems, associated schematic diagrams and software abilities.

You will be working in cross functional and multi cultural teams from all over the world so excellent communication both written and verbal and being fully computer literate is essential.

Given the nature of the role, managing your own projects, you will need  to hold good time management and organisational skills and proven ability to prioritise workload and a complete understanding of electrical systems and installations. It goes without saying that an awareness of Health and Safety procedures, SOP development, troubleshooting, understanding of standard/ build hour, fault finding / troubleshooting experience coupled with being methodical and detail conscious.

Breeding a culture of process improvement / build hour reduction, with the ability to work and lead a cross functional team with proven strong analytical and problem solving skill
