Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are delighted to be working with our East Kilbride based client who are looking for a Part Qualified Financial Accountant to join their team on a full time and permanent basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and ownership of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements to satisfy Head Office reporting.
  • Prepare monthly local management finance packs to review financial performance vs budget.
  • Analyse customer/product profitability trends to improve decision making/effective pricing.
  • Preparation and ownership of periodical forecasts and budget for the site.
  • Monitoring of effectiveness of financial controls to ensure adherence to Sarbanes Oxley legislation. 
  • Lead local liaison with 3rd party shared service centre (based in India) who handle the majority of transactional work for the Scottish MPS sites.
  • Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register including all monthly Fixed Asset Reporting
  • Assist in the control of all the component parts of working capital and organise appropriate action to ensure it is controlled and minimised in total.
  • Contribute to preparation and delivery of monthly departmental overhead / labour reports and monitor overhead spend performance against budget to improve profitability.
  • Implement change across all areas of the business where identified to maximise the benefits of continuous improvement activity.
  • Contribute actively to the sites commercial projects on an ad hoc basis

Skills/experience 

  • Part - qualified Accountant or actively studying towards a recognised accounting qualification
  • Degree level or equivalent in a numerical / analytical based subject
  • 3 years + experience in a manufacturing/ commercial environment.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and their implementation preferably with Sarbox experience.
  • Computer literate with PC modelling and presentation skills.
  • Experience of consolidation processes and systems.
  • Numerical /Verbal reasoning skills at management norm (SHL)
  • Strong commercial acumen
