A rarely available opportunity has come up to join the busy HR Team of a leading manufacturing organisation an an HR Advisor. The purpose of the role is to provide a professional HR service covering the full generalist remit including attendance management, employment law, employment relations, learning and development, performance management, recruitment, reward and recognition.

The role will be based on their Glasgow site for most of the week but you will be required to spend time in another Scottish site each week so you must be prepared to travel. 

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Provide advice to managers on discipline and grievance issues
  • Provide advisory service to employees ensuring they are fully aware of their rights
  • Ensure employee relations issues are handled fairly and consistently in line with legal and company requirements
  • Support the activities of the our occupational health provider
  • Support managers with managing short and long term absences including occupational health referrals
  • Support the application of the drugs and alcohol policy including testing procedures 
  • Help drive organisational performance through people management practices
  • Guide managers through the PDR process and support the implementation of development plans
  • Support managers with the capability process in accordance with our Company policy
  • Manage the recruitment process for all vacancies within their business areas, ensuring that our recruitment processes are implemented fairly and effectively and that our candidate experience is positive. Provide coaching to line managers when appropriate
  • Assist managers with their manpower planning process
  • Update and maintain the HR and Payroll Information System database
  • Provide regular management information and insights on budgets, absence, turnover, employee relations issues,
  • Proactively provide action plans in support of areas of concern
