An opportunity to transform HSE culture in a Global manufacturing organisations Glasgow based site.

This is a demanding and rewarding post with diverse responsibilities which include:

  • To co-ordinate, support and advise the company on all aspects with regards to Health, Safety and Environmental matters.
  • To establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements within the organisation are adhered to.
  • Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to environmental, health, safety and welfare at work and ensure full compliance with applicable UK, EU and international regulations and legislation.
  • Lead, manage and engage the HSE team to create and maintain a high performance and supportive culture and ensure objectives are clear and delivered.
  • Manage, monitor and support the training, coaching and development of members of the HSE Team so that skill levels are consistently developed, applied and maintained across the team.
  • Ensure the transition and ongoing certification of company against the latest ISO standards in HSE, including ISO45001:2018, ISO14001:2015 and ISO50001:2018.



Key Skills and Knowledge

  • Must possess a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Should be a member of Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH)
  • Must have an Environmental Management Qualification.
  • Should ideally have a Degree, or equivalent, in an engineering related discipline.
  • Must have proven experience in HSE Management System implementation and auditing.
  • Should have an understanding of ISO9001:2015 (Quality Management System standard).
  • Must have strong numeracy, written and verbal communication skills and the aptitude to rationally explain, explore and discuss both OH&S and Environmental issues.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in and understanding of HSE issues, relevant legislation and renewable energy sources.
  • Have a knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and negotiation skills.
  • Have experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • The successful candidate will be an 'all-rounder', one who is comfortable engaging with the shop floor alongside shaping and delivering strategy.


There is a real mixture of strategy and rolling sleeves up in this role which can be refreshing for someone who is really looking to make a difference. This is a 6 month contract so you must be able to commit for this period of time.
