Laboratory/Quality Technician - Glasgow

Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are proud to be supporting our clients in a great opportunity for a Laboratory/Quality Technician.

The role of a Lab Technician involves working in a fast paced production environment, testing and maintaining records and chemical baths, through wet chemistry techniques. You will also be responsible for monitoring our environmental policy, whilst working to ISO 14001:2004, ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 18001 company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Wet chemical analysis of various process baths.
• Updating and maintaining all analysis work records
• Stock control and ordering of chemicals and process products
• Data analysis and troubleshooting of process chemicals.
• Making chemical additions to chemical process baths.
• Sample taking and organising external analysis, as per set schedules.
• Maintain records to conform to company Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Requirements.
• Control of Plating effluent plant.
• Quality Documentation control and certification generation.
• Administration including preparing reports/analysis documents
• Excellent customer service to internal/external customers
• Any other reasonable duties

Knowledge & Experience

• Work experience in a laboratory environment is desirable.
• Minimum qualification of ONC level and HNC level desirable, in a science discipline, preferably chemistry.
• Confident in chemical handling.
• Well organised
• A good communicator
• Computer literate in basic Word and Excel documents
• Competent in basic science calculations i.e. dilutions
• Knowledge of COSHH assessments
• Awareness of health & safety regulations
