Nine Twenty are seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join our client for holiday cover, initially for a couple of weeks in Rutherglen.

 

Candidates should bring experience a similar role, ideally from a packaging/paper/boxes/polythene manufacturer.

 

Hours of work are Monday - Friday 6.30am to 3pm.

 

Duties will include:

  • Set up and operate an assigned rewind/slitter machine at required specifications

  • Start machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine

  • Stop machine and reports malfunction to supervisor

  • Assure all jobs are run in accordance with all written manufacturing specifications including manufacturing specs, customer specs, and standard operating procedures

  • Inspect output for defects to ensure that product is according to specifications

  • Perform quality testing and ensure product is within customer specifications

  • Use assisted lifting device when necessary to load rolls onto a skid

 

 

 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; push, pull, reach at or above shoulder height, and extend repeatedly; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must regularly tilt or flip rolls repeatedly of 50 pounds throughout the day.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
