Celtic Renewables is widely regarded as one of the most innovative Biotech companies in Europe,  who have developed a patented low-carbon technology that converts biological residues into high value low carbon sustainable bio-chemicals using an inspirational reinvention of a century old process known as the Acetone-Butanol-Ethanol (ABE) fermentation, to bring this age old fermentation back to the global scale.  The sustainable biochemicals produced by this innovative process can be utilised across a broad spectrum of much needed green products from biofuel, to cosmetics, food flavourings, hygiene and pharmaceuticals.  This pioneering company has completed the first stage of construction of their first state of the art processing plant in Grangemouth, a historical exemplar plant for Scotland, and are preparing to move to live plant commissioning early next year.

The company is committed to working with people who believe in sustainability and innovation and we are partnering with Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing to recruit a number of key roles for the exciting move into the operational phase with a number of roles to be filled this year and early in 2021.  Nine Twenty has a passion for start-up organisations, innovative technology and environmental sustainability and so they are both proud and delighted to be supporting such an exciting Scottish based business at such pivotal phase.

 

They are now looking to appoint a variety of Shift Operators to be part of their expanding team.

As a Manufacturing Shift Operator, you will be reporting directly into the Plant Manager and be an integral part of the business. You will safely operate the relevant process & plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring SOP’s are followed and legislation is met whilst working to company objectives.

You will be part of a High Performing Team Culture & align with the company vision & Manufacturing objectives, contributing to team meetings & support in continuous improvement projects. You will be experienced in Compliance, Quality & Cost, be able to follow documented processes, have a ‘Can do’ attitude, be able to work on your own an within a team & have a natural flair to take pride in your work & be passionate to always do better along with the following responsibilities:

 

  • Work to hygienic working practices ensuring H&S & environmental measures are met including REACH, FEMAS & COSHH.
  • Operate, manage & contribute to optimise production processes & energy usage
  • Operate to Standards Operating Procedures (SOP’s) whilst having an understand of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Carry out process checks ensuring compliance & quality are adhered to
  • Ensure accurate recording of data
  • You will be a key member of the emergency response team
  • Control of all compliance records & process records from receipt of incoming goods/raw materials
  • Conduct safety checks & maintenance tasks
  • Ensuring delivery & contributing to company KPI’s and attend KPI reviews with the Plant Manager

 

The perfect candidate should have:

  • Experience in solvent/chemical & distillation production experience OR experience of operating a plant within a related manufacturing sector
  • Ideally knowledge of hygienic/sterile process/manufacturing operations
  • Be able to demonstrate your experience of working within a strict safety, environmental, quality & feed safety standards
  • Be proficient in the use of automated systems
  • Have an engineering or scientific background would be an advantage
  • Have experience in continuous distillation would be an advantage
  • COSHH trained would be an advantage
  • FLT Licence would be an advantage
