Nine Twenty Engineering are again delighted to be recruiting for ExxonMobil's UK operation.

They require a qualified and experienced Marine Lubricants Sales Territory Manager to join their UK based team.

This role will be home based in the UK, preferably in Scotland or SE England - please be aware that you will be expected to spend the first 6 months of your employment based at the Leatherhead office for training purposes. Longer term the role will involve frequent (up to approximately 30% of the time) travel for business trips, mostly within the UK and European region.

Job Role

Marine Lubricants Sales Territory Managers are responsible for developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies with both existing and prospective marine customers in their area. The key responsibilities are to:

  • Develop sales objectives, targets and actions plans for the territory, consistent with the Company’s professional processes and standards, to meet Company volume and revenue objectives

  • Manage relationships with existing customers, including the provision of technical support and engineering consultancy that enables them to use ExxonMobil lubricants  most effectively

  • Identify potential customers and new markets


To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Hold a bachelors or masters degree, preferably in marine or mechanical engineering, or an equivalent subject. Further postgraduate study in a business subject is also preferred

  • Have relevant professional experience in the marine shipping industry, preferably in the sales and marketing of marine lubricants (three years+ as a guide). Candidates with less than three years’ experience, but who have a high degree of relevant industry experience will also be considered

  • Have strong IT skills, specifically being an experienced and competent user of Microsoft Office

Candidates should also have demonstrated work experience and / or knowledge of:

  • Interacting and communicating effectively with both internal teams and external client organisations / companies across multiple countries
  • A broad range of personal effectiveness and leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate and influence business decisions in a team environment
