Nine Twenty are delighted to support our manufacturing client to recruit a Material Control Team Leader to join their business on a permanent basis. 

The Role

Your role will be to lead the Material control team ensuring the plan and call-off of packaging materials are delivered for production plans and to ensure suppliers are hitting their targets in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:                   

  • To manage call-off of annual spend packaging material to deliver production plans
  • Ensure SLA’s are formalised annually and reviewed monthly with adequate measures and KPI’s and cover the continuous improvement
  • Create and maintain service level agreements with key vendors
  • Ensure the team liaise with vendors on a regular basis to identify any potential issues and ensure capacity is available to meet demand
  • Participate in projects to integrate new businesses or develop new brands as required to ensure delivery on time in full to agreed budget
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to review and interpret proposed vendor schedules to ensure operational viability.
  • Co-ordinate any amendments as required and issue agreed/final schedules, managing any supply issues as per the Manage Stock process within ISO9001
  • Maintain standing data within ERP to optimise the running of MRP
  • Lead the Continuous Improvement agenda in Material Control – Deliver plans that reduce lead-times and increase efficiency balancing cost, inventory and service

Essential Skills

  • Experience of successfully defining and implementing Material Planning & Control
  • Delivered Service Level Agreements with Suppliers including KPI management & feedback.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret Planning information.
  • Success in vendor management, relationship building, and managing performance.
  • MRP system knowledge and experience
  • Resilient and strong character with a passion to succeed and a drive to get the best from others
  • Able to work effectively with limited guidance / direction and determine own priorities.
