Nine Twenty are delighted to be recruiting a Senior Material Planner to join a hugely successful FMCG business based in East Ayrshire on a full-time permanent basis. 

Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will be responsible ensuring the supply of materials to meet the production schedule and maintain appropriate stock levels to support and drive improvement in customer service.

Key Responsibilities:                   

  • Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions and deliver appropriate solutions
  • Schedule the material delivery call off to meet production requirements.
  • Review and where required, plan, develop and implement processes for material delivery from supplier to point of fit - including long leadtime items and new materials for NPD projects.
  • Understand and manage risks to minimise impact on production schedule.
  • Trend analysis on repeat material shortages and implementation on corrective/preventative actions.
  • Optimise Material Requirements Planning system (MRP)
  • Generate and communicate supplier material delivery schedules + forecasts to meet demand
  • Minimise slow and obsolete stock (SLOB) and ensure business is left with minimum liability
  • Develop suite of KPIs to be shared monthly, including input to supplier performance.
  • Produce month end data to support financial reporting

 

Essential Skills

  • Experience working in a similar position within manufacturing
  • Proven track record of successful people leadership and engagement
  • Ability to quickly develop and meaningful stakeholder/supplier relationships
  • Proficiency with systems, including MS Office suite, in particular excel
  • Assertive, adaptable, resilient and embraces change
  • Self-motivated and calm under pressure
  • Highly process and compliance focused
  • Strong communication skills to enable stakeholder management across all levels of the business
