Nine Twenty are delighted to be recruiting a Material Planner to join a hugely successful manufacturing business based in Renfrewshire on a full-time permanent basis. 


The Role


Your role is to improve profits through effective management of stock integrity protocols and improvement projects.  You will maintain stock accuracy, investigate and eliminate sources of variance while implementing an efficient stock movement system to eliminate slow moving stock and maximise working capital.


Key Responsibilities:                   

  • Execute a structured assessment of materials management activity
  • Implement a methodical containment & corrective action plan to provide company accurate control of materials.
  • Corrective actions to be implemented pre and post planned stock counts.
  • Manage investigations into variances and drive to root cause where practical.
  • Work with the Procurement & Sales Director as required to manage procurement levels in line with current inventory.
  • Providing regular updates of key activity to main stakeholders.
  • Whilst living the Company values and promoting health, safety and wellbeing, engaging and collaborating within the operations team.


Essential Skills

  • Relevant experience in a Supply chain / Stock management role overseeing a variety of Operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong business relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Good understanding manufacturing stock management processes
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools (e.g. Lean Manufacturing, 5S etc).
  • Able to effectively manage ever changing priorities.
  • Able to work effectively with limited guidance / direction and determine own priorities.
  • Well-developed personal computing skills including spreadsheet applications.
  • Flexible and able to work across shifts as required, and at short notice.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
