Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Glasgow

Nine Twenty's client have recently gone through an exciting period of growth and expansion, and are now seeking an experienced, hands on Maintenance Engineer to join their busy production site in Port Glasgow.

You will be responsible for (mainly) Planned Maintenance activities on machinery as well as any escalated breakdowns.

You will also oversee installation and equipment modifications where necessary.

It is vital that you are confident working alone as well as part of a small team, and can think outside of the box (!) to resolve machinery issues. You will use your initiative and industry contacts/relationships to source parts when required and be a positive representative for the company.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a maintenance engineer

  • Proven ability to trouble-shoot common machine faults utilising equipment documentation

  • Possess the ability to assess the risks associated with production equipment and can work in a manner that is safe for both themselves and their colleagues

  • Flexibility to work overtime when required; fixing breakdowns and helping clear planned preventative maintenance backlogs out with production hours.

  • Time served mechanical engineer

  • The role comes with a lot of autonomy so self-motivation, drive and the ability to work on own initiative is essential.

  • Ability to suggest and implement machine improvement modifications to prevent recurring faults which fits with our culture of continuous improvement.

  • Hands-on: likes spending the majority of their time working on equipment

  • I.T. literate

The role is Day Shift, however a degree of flexibility is required to cover breakdowns etc.
