Our client is a leading producer within the food and manufacturing industry.Due to increased volume, they now have opportunities for talented Engineers to join their team.

The company has recently spent £3m on new state of the art equipment for the site.

Multi skilled Maintenance Engineer responsibilities:

  • Maintain plant machinery at optimum levels with a minimum of downtime.
  • Set-up machines/ resolve problems in production in these areas.
  • Adjust machinery / suggest ideas of modifications.
  • Support Manufacturing and other functions in all aspects of production
  • Undertake routine maintenance of electrical and mechanical machinery and equipment in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule.
  • Carry out fault finding to detect and repair electrical and mechanical faults on machinery and equipment.
  • Timely reaction to plant breakdowns and speed of response in rectifying breakdown problems.
  • Supervise external contractors and colleagues as required.
  • Advise other maintenance personnel on any technical issues beyond their scope.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company safety rules and health and safety legislation.



  • A strong competence level in both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in equipment installation.
  • Experience in the care and inspection of plant services equipment (compressed air systems, steam boilers and refrigeration).
  • Determination and a will to succeed
  • To have excellent people skills and the ability to influence effectively.
  • Experience within a Manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical and decision making capability.


  • City and Guilds apprenticeship trained.
  • 17th Edition electrical qualification.
  • Experience of working within the food industry.
  • Food Safety qualification.
