Are you passionate, diligent with a keen eye for detail? Do you have experience in Cartoning Design, Artwork & Lithographic Printing? Then this could be the job for you!

We are delighted to be helping our client in their need for a Packaging Designer/Artworker to join their team on a full time and permanent basis. 

You will be responsible for developing and producing carton designs from concept, approval to production, preparing artwork, reprographics and printing plates for lithographic printing. 

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate customer requirements to create effective pack designs within capability of equipment
  • Prepare carton drawings, designs and samples using CAD/CAM cutting table
  • Design and review artwork
  • Amending customer supplied artwork files using Adobe Illustrator
  • Manage approval process for pack design, artwork and colour
  • Maintain print specifications and colour standards
  • Perform reprographics and output lithographic printing plates via CTP system
  • Design and order cutting dies, cyrels and plate making materials. Perform basic maintenance on plate making machines
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure capability and maximise efficiency (formes)
  • Explore new designs and challenge existing practices
  • Review existing designs and layouts to maximise machine and material efficiency
  • Provide technical advice relating to design, artwork, print setup, colour
  • Illustrate creative ideas through sketching, mock-ups, presentations
  • Support customer complaints investigations (NCRs)

The perfect candidate should have:

  • 5 years previous experience in lithographic printing environment - ideally cartons
  • 3 years previous experience in artwork management and reprographics
  • Knowledge of litho print processes, inks and setup
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experienced in 2D CAD design software
