PAYROLL COORDINATOR

RENFREW

Nine Twenty are supporting our Manufacturing client who have an urgent need for a Payroll Coordinator who has a good understanding of payroll processing.

This role requires accuracy, great organisation skills and committed to delivering excellent service.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Administration & processing of weekly, monthly payroll submissions and auto enrolments
  • Ensure the timely receipt and processing of all payroll data in accordance with set deadlines Enrolment pensions
  • Provide support to employees and liaison with HMRC
  • Collate timesheets and associated paperwork, ensuring overtime and expenses are authorised by senior staff
  • Ensure all salary changes as advised by HR such as alterations in working hours, increments etc, are processed appropriately/timeously.
  • Appropriately record any deductions from salaries and ensure authorising documentation is in place
  • Calculate payments for SSP/SMP/SPP and company sick pay purposes, complete all documentation required by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
  • Online reporting to pension funds and RTI to HMRC
  • Produce all payroll reports (including salary advice) and other reports required by the Finance Dept
  • Process all payments using SAGE, ensure back up procedures followed.
  • Keep accurate records for Tax Office and Auditing purposes
  • Check all payments are correct
  • Produce pay slips for each employee
  • Process all documentation relating to new starters and leavers including issuing of P45 certificates and other associated tax forms
  • Investigate and resolve any employee query relating to remuneration
  • Liaise with HR and Operations Team at both Operational sites

Experience and Skills:

  • Proven track record of working within a busy payroll department
  • Knowledge of payroll, pensions and related legislation and regulation
  • An understanding of pension auto-enrolment legislation
  • Experience in the use of payroll software, particularly Sage, would be advantageous.
  • Level 3 CIPP qualification highly desirable but not essential
  • Advanced Excel skills desirable
  • Self-motivated with a passion for payroll and service delivery
  • Thorough approach, placing importance on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Numerate with analytical skills
  • Works well to meet daily and month end demands
  • Highly organised with the ability to work on their own initiative and prioritise tasks
  • Good PC skills including MS office, ideally including SAGE, Excel, and Word
  • A good team player with strong interpersonal skills and experience of dealing with all levels within a business
  • An excellent communicator – both verbal and written
