Roles don't often come up within this Global OEM, but due to a continued period of growth and investment they require a Design Manufacturing Engineer with a background in Electronics and Automation.

R&D is a huge focus for Teknek as they look to develop their already world leading product in the coming years and this is a critical role to support their growth.

 

Role:

 

 

Teknek are a company that has led the market for over thirty years, this is an exciting time at Teknek and as a result of an ongoing programme of growth, a new permanent position has been created for a dynamic, experienced and highly capable Automation Engineer to join the Design and Engineering Team. As their products become ever more integrated in automated industrial production processes such as mobile phones, automotive electronics in the production facilities of Global companies they are investing in making sure that Teknek continues to lead.

 

This new position requires a clear thinker. They are looking for someone who can take a lead in improving overall product performance, functionality and quality. This role requires a skilled engineer who can also see the big picture. Working as part of a small Product Development team, reporting to the Principal Engineer, the successful candidate will help shape the future at Teknek.

 

Duties include:

  • Responsible for the design, programming, simulation and test of their automated machinery and processes for new and existing products.
  • Drive continuous test program improvements and releases to manufacturing for better productivity.
  • Monitor reliability metrics and goals to drive quality improvement efforts.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to their internal team and interface with their customers regarding any aspect of their control and automation products or processes.
  • Advising key suppliers with regards to product selection, verification and qualification.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • Excellent first degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years experience of automation systems design covering all phases of the design cycle, including:

    o Formulating design specifications via detailed modelling.
    o Performing conceptual designs to identify best option to pursue with experimental testing to assess key parts.
    o Performing detailed design of option selected.
    o Build and alpha test prototypes.
    o Refine and finalise prototype designs for beta testing.

 

  • Understand and be able to implement details of specific technical implementations for realising working
  • automation systems such as, motion control, sensors, localisation and navigation, motion control, automation control.
  • Hands on approach with good manual skills for tasks such as soldering assembly, systems integration, test design and build.
  • Knowledge of specific applications sectors such as Automation Control, Printed Circuit Board Assembly and Fabrication, Coating & Converting or Experience in designing Factory Automation would be an advantage.
  • Manufacturing experience with a drive for product excellence.
  • Strong communicator (English), additional language skills are welcome.
  • Sufficient in Creo / Pro-Engineer or equivalent.
