Nine Twenty are delighted to be working with our Renfrewshire based, leading process manufacturer as they look to hire a QA Manager into their business during this continued period of investment in their manufacturing facility. 

The key to this role is to plan, organise, maintain and develop all quality systems and certification within the business, meeting all customer reporting requirements and ensuring that all documentation is up to date and in place.

Key Accountabilities

  • Delivers against Vision, Mission and Values
  • Ensure Quality System Requirements are met throughout the company by ensuring relevant personnel carry out activities such as auditing, drawing up SOPs and procedures and reviewing existing documentation
  • Liaise with customer quality assurance personnel on all QA matters eg. PSW/PPAP
  • Design and development of the QA System
  • Review Customer Specific Requirements ensuring these are met by the company as required
  • Undergo relevant training for specific certification and customer-specific requirements, eg. VDA Quality requirements or Product Safety representation
  • Ensure all test & measuring equipment is calibrated and relevant certification is maintained
  • Host external certification bodies & QA related customer visits
  • Communicate external audit findings and ensure all corrective actions are addressed
  • To assist in specialist projects as required, helping with problem solving and investigating quality issues.  This may involve analysing, reporting or advising senior management on technical and quality matters
  • Liaise with suppliers on QA matters eg. Quality System requirements & development
  • Ensure APQP process milestones are met for Quality requirements
  • Ensure the product is legally compliant
  •  Analysis of test results and preparation of statistical reports for management review
  • Regularly conduct risk assessments to highlight any potential risks to the business
  • Communicate business Quality performance to Board for quarterly review

KPI/Measures

  • Compliance with external bodies to ensure continued certifications are met
  • Ensure all scheduled quality audits are carried out
  • Responsible for ensuring workplace documentation is maintained by process owners
  • Preparation of reports in line with Quality Director's requirements
  • Maintain up to date and accurate calibration records
  • Maintain effective management of Q-Pulse to meet Group standards
  • Mitigate potential risk through non compliances and ensure the business takes a risk-averse approach

Person Specification

  • Position should be preferably degree qualified, ideally in Quality Management
  • Detailed knowledge of ISO TS 16949 or IATF 16949 requirements
  • Detailed knowledge of core tools eg. APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA
  •  Detailed knowledge of automotive QA practices eg. 8D, PSW/PPAP, AAR
  • Should be detailed and structured, taking a pride in professional document presentation
  • Proactive and enthusiastic – continuous improvement ethos
  • Effective communicator
  • Good team player, working within the management team
  • Computer literate, good analytical skills, comfortable with numerical targets   
  •  Effective people manager
