Nine Twenty are delighted to be working with our Lanarkshire based, leading manufacturer as they look to hire a new Quality Manager into their business during this continued period of investment in their manufacturing facility and as they prepare for growth.

The main purpose of the role is to lead the site based Quality team to provide the organisation and its customers with exceptional quality support in new and existing products/processes. To maintain key business systems and ensure that internal / external customer deliverables are achieved. To manage projects and activities as defined by the Managing Director and to advise the business of optimal direction through Quality function, identifying, assessing and reducing any risks to the success of the organisation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that the Quality Business Management System is implemented, maintained and operated throughout the company in line with relevant international standards (IATF16949 / / ISO9001 / OHSAS18001 / ISO14001).
  • Manage internal audit schedule and maintain quality records required for the above standards.
  • Drive internal and external quality reject analysis and reduction programmes.
  • Control of Product Audit (including SPC), Goods Inward Inspection.
  • Ensuring that advanced quality planning is carried out to minimise the risks associated with new product introduction (NPI). APQP / FMEA / Control Plans / PPAP processes.
  • Control of inspection gauges, test equipment and environmental verification equipment and the provision of a measurement control and service to the site.
  • Liaise with relevant departments to ensure the resolution of customer concerns within defined timescales and manage all related costs.
  • As “Management Representative” provide information for and facilitate Management KPI meetings.
  • Contribute to site Continuous Improvement in all areas, drive conformance to procedures and site wide 5S requirements.
  • To ensure staff development using internal and external means as appropriate.
  • Undertake special projects as defined by the Managing Director.

 

Health, Safety & Environmental Requirements

The manager is responsible for their team as defined above and all departments and processes in the facility their team interact with.

The Management Team is responsible for the realisation of the Health and Safety and Environmental Policies, Targets and Objectives, this is achieved by ensuring that the objectives are defined, risk assessments are completed and processes and procedures are adequately defined and adhered to.

The duties to meet this responsibility have been delegated to employees at all levels through internal processes (through use of instructions and procedures).

Each Manager is responsible for the continuous improvement of their activities, processes and work environment. By consistently defining objectives and monitoring their accomplishment (KPIs), we create the conditions for this continuous improvement process.
