Nine Twenty are delighted to be working exclusively with our progressive and disruptive Edinburgh based client, who are market leaders in the  British Energy sector.

The organisation are a leading demand response business; they provide rapid access to response and reserve energy and they deliver this with much lower cost and much lower emissions than conventional power stations. As a business they have pioneered their industry and they lead the aggregated demand-side reserve services for electricity system balancing, and continues to lead this sector in volume, technical capability and innovation. They create this reserve by aggregating small generators and flexible electrical loads into capacity groups that are made available to the UK’s Distribution Network Operators for short periods when the national or local electricity system is under stress. These generation assets and electrical loads are owned by third party industrial and commercial businesses that partner with them for market access and service provision.

In recent years the organisation have been bought by a global energy firm; They have recently created a brand new business unit within their group Digital and Commerce division to drive their technology agenda. This has been initiated as a cross-company Energy AI platform for data and information acquisition to drive the digitalisation across all businesses and establish scalable, real-time capabilities, required to keep up with the rapidly changing and increasingly complex and interconnected energy markets.

The Technical Integration Officer role will focus on information gathering and knowledge sharing to develop and unlock synergies in both directions to facilitate agility and streamlining within the delivery of demand-side services.

  • Bring Groups recent investment in Digital Route’s data management technology investment to bear on UK companies operational and technical needs.
  • Be fully conversant with the new business units activity and identify where there is shared benefit and opportunity.
  • Where appropriate, identify areas within the business or the broader Digital and Commerce division where Uk companies knowledge could add value.
  • Support international DRM roll-out and commercialisation projects in collaboration between different group business units.

Working with management, engineers, technical and operational staff, the Technical Integration Officer will be involved in every aspect of understanding, developing and monetising demand-side focused projects and services.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is looking to participate within and contribute to the leading edge of service development within this sector.
