Nine Twenty Engineering are currently looking for a number of Wind Turbine Technicians to work on a contract basis throughout Scotland and the North of England/Wales. This is initially a 6 month contract position and could be extended or lead into a permanent position for the right candidate.

Our client offices are located in Scotland but you have to be prepared to travel UK wide to sites to perform planned maintenance, servicing, installation and commissioning work onshore.

We are looking for candidates with experience on Vestas equipment and who have a maintenance / service background holding Vestas SIT. There are also a number of opportunities for those holding their competency and Authorised Technicians qualifications.

  • Full GWOS
  • Vestas SIT
  • Vestas WTSR

Wind Turbine Technician duties and responsibilities:

  • To carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs and replacements
  • To carry out all mechanical, hydraulic and electrical work, including maintenance, repairs or replacement of parts
  • Error analysis and troubleshooting in complicated mechanical, hydraulic or electrical problems with wind turbines
  • Ensure timescale and quality requirements are adhered to
  • Work closely with the technical department, fault investigations and the development of sustainable efficient solutions
  • Performing diagnostic electrical analysis
  • Support in documenting and managing the work using the automated and prescribed reporting procedures
  • Support in managing all HSE documentation at the site
  • To comply with all manuals, work instructions, processes and procedures at the Wind farm

Wind Turbine Technician desired experience:

  • Qualified electrical engineering or mechanical engineering
  • 3 years' minimum Wind experience with Vestas turbines
  • All GWO certificates (including medical) and VCA certificates
  • A high level of computer knowledge is essential, especially Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Valid Driving License

Accommodation, daily food allowance and travel is provided alongside paid travel time.
